We advocate for education and scholarship for all
An advocacy chapter of the AAUP
Higher education is a cornerstone of American life, generating and disseminating ideas and inventions that further the cause of democracy and prosperity for all. The American Association of University Professors (AAUP) is a national organization of faculty and academic professionals, promoting and safeguarding academic freedom and professional standards; economic security for members of the higher education community; and to ensure that members of the higher education community can best serve the public. The Brandeis chapter of the AAUP is an advocacy chapter formed in 2025 to further the cause of robust faculty governance and free expression; to advocate for the rights of faculty, staff, postdocs, and students; and to ensure that Brandeis and all institutions of higher education are able to thrive and prosper.
Join us!
All faculty, postdocs, staff, and graduate students are encouraged to join the AAUP and the Brandeis chapter.
We meet twice per month, once by Zoom for official business and once more informally in person. Contact us if you’d like to visit a meeting before joining.
